Sales Account Manager – New Business Development Manager

Initially, you will take ownership of developing existing accounts and maximising company generated leads, building strong commercial relationships and identifying growth opportunities. As you demonstrate success, you will start to focus on New Business Development targeting new markets, opening doors and driving strategic growth across the B2B sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Manager
- Manage existing and potential customer enquiries received via phone or email.
- Relationship building with key customers contacts al all-management levels
- Gain an excellent understanding of the businesses’ products and services and be able to advise potential customers about them.
- Manage existing accounts and develop the accounts.
- Management of customer requirements
- Liaise with the NPD team, sourcing and purchasing departments.
- Relationship building with key customer contacts at all management levels.
- Self-generated new business contacts.
- Focus on ‘stock’ product sales. Propose and develop future strategy for stock sales.
- Responsible for calculating margins and generating quotes on your own projects.
- Input data onto SAGE system
- Outbound calls to promote Nekem products.
- Liaise with buyer and account handlers to manage stock levels.
- Complete all enquiries in-line with company processes.
- Handle incoming phone calls.
Business Development Manager
- Research and identify new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services – or new ways of reaching existing markets
- Examine industry trends, customer needs and competitor activities
- Regular contact to gain insights into customer evolving needs.
- Structures and analytical approach through assessing potential revenue and profitability.
- Sale opportunity aligns with Nekem’s goals and capabilities.
- Effective networking and prospecting to provide groundwork for identifying new business opportunities
- Negotiate price and terms, overcome objections, build trust and secure sales deals.
- Foster and develop new and existing relationships with customers/clients – Cold, Warm & Hot Leads. Seek out the appropriate contact in an organisation.
- Meet with customers/clients face to face or over the phone
- Understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these.
- Gain an excellent understanding of the businesses’ products and services and be able to advise potential customers about them.
- Create a sales pipeline
- Negotiate pricing with customers
- Liaise with the Purchasing team, warehousing and accounts departments as appropriate.
- Attend exhibitions and events where appropriate
- Carry out sales forecasts and analysis and present your findings to senior management

The role involves visits to existing and prospective customers, with occasional overnight stays, so flexibility and a full, clean UK driving licence are essential.
